A Japanese Meiji period carved wood and shibayama cabinet, with phoenix crest, an arrangement of doors and open shelves with central section modelled as a bridge, inlaid in ivory and mother of pearl with birds and flowering branches, W.3ft 10in. D.1ft .5in. H.6ft 2in.

Please note this cabinet contains ivory so can only be exported within the EU. The two upper cabinet doors on the left hand side have two restored flowers and the cupboard door upper right has some slight losses and elements re-glued, the left centre panel has some losses and restoration to the mother of pearl chrysanthemum and a leaf in the centre, centre right panel has some losses to the leaves and a little bit of restoration, the lower left cupboard door has a restored head to the bird, some other losses and restoration to the leaves, there is occasional small splits and scuffs to the timber all over, one of the brackets just to the left of the bridge section has some losses and generally the cabinet is very dusty and requires a good clean.
