A Jacques ebony and boxwood Staunton pattern chess set, kings 9cm, with loaded bases and a Victorian walnut folding chessboard, inlaid with parquetry banding, 44 x 39cm when open

Condition:
black - split to the base of the King, tiny wear to tips of the Queens crown, one bishop lacking finial and with damage to the slot, one knight with missing ear, the other with red crown stamp, one castle with red crown stamp, the other with tiny chip around the upper ring, one pawn with very fine hairline crack to base, all with baize bases, some which look to have been replaced. Boxwood - King rather faded and dirty around the finial with tiny chipping to the upper finial on one side, queen three points of the crown a little chipped, one knight with lost ear, the other with red crown stamp and small chip to ear, one castle with red stamp, one pawn with natural flaw in the wood of the ball finial, all with baize as per the black, all with some degree of fading. Folding board a little faded and scuffed around the edges with one split running near the front right corner.
