A German Third Reich officer's sword by Paul Weyersberg, Solingen, the gilt metal hilt with lion head pommel and red stone set eyes, with wirebound plastic grip and silvered wired portepee, with black painted scabbard, fullered steel blade with mark for Paul Weyersberg & Co, Solingen, overall incl. scabbard 42.5in.

Paint loss and rusting to scabbard, portepee strap is broken, wear and minor staining to lion grip and guard, blade appears to be ok, slight bend at the tip.
