A George IV needlework sampler by Mary Newbold, aged ten years, dated 1825. A finely embroidered mixed alphabet sampler, with religious verse and large floral and foliate embroidered spray and swag motifs within a vining border. The sampler worked in small cross stitches on a fine linen cloth, framed and glazed later, 33cm wide x 41cm high.
