A George III style satinwood and marquetry serpentine commode, in the style of John Cobb, the top inlaid with a demi-patera and radial husk chains within a banded lobed harewood border above two banded doors inlaid with giant oval paterae within painted ribbon-tied husk festoons, and painted to the centre with masks of Apollo, the keeled corners with gilt-brass husk chains, on splayed bracket feet with scroll cast sabot, W.4ft 6.5in.

Minor shrinkage cracks in places mainly on the doors and some minor scuffs in places, front legs have been off and re-attached at some point.

We expect this piece has been reconstructed from period timbers and has been repolished and possibly some later inlay in places, basically it has a good look but is not a period piece.
