Lot 460 , A George III silver egg cruet by William Elliott, 27 oz.

A George III silver egg cruet by William Elliott, 27 oz.

A George III silver egg cruet by William Elliott, of rectangular form, with six cups, engraved armorial and gadrooned borders, on lion's paw feet, lacking spoons, London, 1816, 7.75in, 27 oz.
Estimate £500-800

There is a small repair to the base rim, visible from the underside close to one foot and there is a repair to one of the rings in which the cups sit. The interior gilding is worn to all cups and one has very little evidence of gilding left. The overall condition is otherwise good, commensurate with age and use. The hallmarks are generally all visible but some rubbing has occurred to all sets of marks.
