Overall a good rich dark brown mahogany colour, top has seen a number of old dents and scratches over the years and has a fine split running approx 10inches from the front left corner across the body of the top, front of the chest shows a good rich colour and nice figuring to the drawer fronts but a number of old worm holes which have been plugged in some places but not all, handles are later replacement as are the escutcheons, bottom drawer has prounounced cracking right through the front of the drawer in three long splits, please see more detailed photographs of this, less pronounced cracking in the third drawer and a hint of it starting in the second drawer, sides have fair wear and tear and need a bit of polishing, feet look to be later and are rather scuffed. Overall a good chest but will require some degree of restoration.
