Two splits to the wood at the base of the coloumn between the legs. There are seven visible splits to the surface of the wood on the lowest tier. The spines of the books are in general, showing signs of wear ie. scuff marks and some loss. One spine on the lowest tier has quite an amount missing at it's base. Some replacement screws?,within the central column Quite a gap between two panels within the central column due to shrinkage. There are three surface splits to the wood on tier 3 and two on tier 2. Numerous minor nicks and indentations in general, conducive with age and use.
