Estimate £2,000-3,000

Provenance: M.Harris & Sons at Grosvenor House, Jul. 1959 £285.00

Brown leather skiver looks to be an old example although probably not the original, and has a fair amount of wear around the edges with a pronounced split running just across the width of the table just off the centre line, further surface scratches and scuffing throughout the skiver, one small section of veneer running around the edge along with a few short splits to the top edge moulding, slight lines or ridges running approx. 10 inches in length but also may indicate that the timber below has shifted at some point. One drawer front has come away from its backing and has a split and screwed repair which shows from the inside but not from the front, all other drawers in good order and this comes with the original key, the cap of one knob handle is missing, a 12 inch section of moulding missing from the lower edge of the table and two other small sections missing elsewhere, some light wear showing to the lower sections of the legs, overall of fair to good colour. In summary a handsome table in need of some restorations but overall a good piece.
