A George II provincial silver bachelor's tea pot, by Micon Melvn? with later embossed decoration, the base with hallmarks for Exeter, 1736 and engraved "Susanna Kingdon" the handle and cover with Victorian hallmarks, probable later replacements, height 13cm, gross weight 14.6oz.

Susanna Kingdon (1838-1869) was born in North Molton. She married Samuel Shapland on 12 April 1860, in Twitchen, Devon

Condition:
Silver solder repair to the handle. Small hole to the handle. Dent to the side of the body. Ivory insulators. Minor nicks and surface scratches in general, commensurate with age and use. Cover maker probably William Moulson, London 1841?. Hallmarks on base clear but with some mild rubbing.
