A George I walnut gaming table, with eared serpentine rectangular top, scallop shell carved serpentine frieze and shell kneed cabriole legs with paw feet, W.3ft 4.5in. D.1ft 8in. H.2ft 5.5in.

Overall of a light reddish walnut tone, top with a very slight upward curve of the flap, some fading and one fine hairline crack running across from the back right side, interior relatively recently lined in baize which is worn at the edges, has candle recesses and wells for gaming counters, all four legs are carved in the round, signs of old dents, cracking and repairs around the frieze and lower on running down through the legs, one more noteworthy repaired split on the inside of the front left leg but further repairs to all of the legs including infilling of worm holes particularly near the feet.
