A French Empire mahogany side chair by Georges Jacob for Fontainebleu,
with scroll over cresting rail and padded back and seat upholstered with faded in hand stitched fabric, on turned tapered legs. bears Louis Philippe crest and inventory number, see Empire Furniture by Serge Grandjean, plate 43 where a matching chair is attributed to Jacob-Desmalter of Paris, circa 1806.

Condition:
Overall of a mid-reddish brown mahogany tone, a little doll in the polish and slightly rubbed across the top of the cresting rail. Original fabric up whole street now very tired faded and generally distressed.
