A Chinese white jade mounted rosewood ruyi sceptre, 18th/19th century, the sceptre with silver inlay probably to zitan, the white jade plaques carved in relief with Shou Lao and an attendant in a landscape, two birds with prunus and rockwork and a bat and pomegranates, the sceptre tied with silk tassels, 45cm long, on a satin and carved hongmu stand, Stand 51cm x 19.5cm

All of the white jade plaques have come loose and been reglued in to position. The jade has some natural inclusions
There has been some shrinkage to the wood so the largest and smallest plaques no longer fit inside the apertures. The top wood moulding around the largest plaque has small chips to the edge. Some occasional minor nicks the edges of the wood sceptre. The neck of the sceptre. The silk covered cardboard stand shaped as a ruyi step has losses, fraying and fading to the silk. The rectangular wood stand is coming loose at the top section and some has regluing to the joints.
