Compare a similar jade carving of a goose in Chinese Jade Throughout The Ages, an exhibition organised by the Arts Council of Great Britain and The Oriental Ceramics Society June 1975 Victoria and Albert Museum, item 243, dated to the Song period.
There is brown veining and inclusions to the stone, a tiny chip to the leaf at the back of the goose, otherwise in reasonable condition.
