From the collection of a Hong Kong Tea Merchant who worked for Jardine Matheson & Co Ltd, before 1940.

There are natural inclusions and fissures to the stone, there is some black staining to the stone where someone has tried to highlight the carved areas and this has gone into a fine crack to the body on one side, the rest of the staining around the handles and in the engraved decoration should remove though, there are a few small splinter chips and nicks to the edge of the rim and the foot, otherwise in reasonable condition.
