A Chinese watercolour on paper and soapstone overlaid picture, 18th century, depicting two sages in a pavilion garden, wood frame, 22.5 x 18cm

There are small occasional worm holes to the picture and the leather border, the board which the painted silk and soapstone is overlaid on is slightly warped, there are some small losses to the soapstone overlay on the fence on the left and the pole supporting the roof of the pavilion, further to the original description the cover of this piece slides off to reveal a second picture underneath of a boy playing with a dog, the dog and the boy appear to be replacements done in plaster whereas the other elements which are overlaid are in soapstone, there are cracks to the corners of the leather which is laid on a papier mache frame with slight splits to each side, left hand side is missing leather.
