A Chinese silk kesi and gilt thread gauze 'dragon' Summer robe, 19th century, worked in kesi stitch and gilt thread with four large five claw dragons amid clouds, bats and auspicious objects, above rocks and lishui stripes, with further five claw dragons to lower panels, the borders with figures amid pavilions and trees on a white gauze ground, old alterations and loose threads

Alterations to the sleeves and some of the borders and with a later green silk lining, probably shortened in length. Some loose threads particularly to the gilt on the dragons, etc. height 81 cm.
