A Chinese sgraffito yellow ground medallion bowl, Daoguang underglaze blue six character mark of the period (1821-50), painted in famille rose enamels, the interior with an eight section rosette, the exterior with four seasonal landscape roundels painted in black outline alone or with added colour surrounded by flowers and shaded foliate scrolls on the sgraffito yellow ground, diameter 14.8cm, one hairline crack

Provenance: UK Private Collection. The vendor's grandfather formed a large collection of several hundred pieces of Chinese porcelain and works of art in the 1920's. The majority of the pieces were brought mainly from specialist dealers and auctioneers in East Anglia and the South of England; thence by family descent.

There is a fine crack extending from the rim down the body 4cm which is slightly stained, occasional minor scratching to the glaze otherwise in good condition with no chips or restoration.
