A Chinese ruby backed famille rose bowl, early Qianlong period, the interior painted with a sprig of peonies and pomegranates, the exterior with four petal lobed reserves of flowers, prunus blossom and pine with rockwork on a ruby ground, diameter 11.5cm, small rim chip

Provenance: UK Private Collection. The vendor's grandfather formed a large collection of several hundred pieces of Chinese porcelain and works of art in the 1920's. The majority of the pieces were brought mainly from specialist dealers and auctioneers in East Anglia and the South of England; thence by family descent.

There is some black speckling to the enamels on the flowers on the interior of the bowl and there is a 4mm x 2mm shallow rim chip to the outer edge of the bowl, no cracks or restoration, occasional minor scratches otherwise in good condition.
