Lot 85 , A Chinese painting on silk of soldiers, 18th/19th century, 97x 49cm, framed and glazed
A Chinese painting on silk of soldiers, 18th/19th century, the procession leading a carriage through a ravine, 97x 49cm, framed and glazed
Estimate £250-350
Provenance: the estate of the late Jean-Claude Lepileur (1926-2016)
The paper is quite discoloured brown and the greenery of the rock work and other highlighting stands out, there are some creases to the paper and there is some slight tears / losses to the silk down the centre and across to the right, it looks as though it may have been remounted on a silk backing and with some touching in and restoration to patches particularly on the lower section, there is also a three character seal script style mark lower left. Later framed and glazed.
