A Chinese kesi work 'dragon' panel, 18th/19th century, probably adapted from a table cover or a robe, decorated with four five claw dragons and a central four claw dragon, amid clouds and auspicious symbols and bats, two striped ends within brocade black ground borders, 111 x 106cm, adapted and later lined

As mentioned in the description this panel has possibly been made up from a gown or similar textile, there is some wear and holes to some of the dragons with the lining underneath showing through, some discolouration particularly to the centre of the panel and around the edges with some occasional staining, the black border which is embroidered with Buddhist emblems has some wear and unpicked threads, the lining which is like a crepe paper on the underside is stained and holed on one end.
