the pale celadon jade plaques carved in relief with the characters ‘shuangxi’ (double joy) and ‘xi’ (joy), with green stained bone beaded surrounds, the stem inset with carved green stained bone bats, endless knot and cash with wood tasselled cords, with red silk cords
Provenance- from the family of a British diplomat based in Shanghai until the 1950s
