A Chinese inscribed white jade snuff bottle, 19th century, the stone is of good even tone, the bottle well hollowed, the inscription possibly added reads ‘Looking Eastward at the long, long road that leads to my homeland, at my late years, I am too old and tired and can only dream of it with tears, there my country man is riding by on his way home, I hope he can convey my messages to the loving folks at home’, the reverse engraved with a pine sapling in a pot, 6.7cm high, metal and coral stopper
