A Chinese huanghuali square vase stand, 19th century, the apron carved with archaistic scrolls on square legs joined by stretchers, with cabriole feet, H.30cm W.17.5cm

There is some occasional slight staining to the top and some of the stretchers, one of the joints on the low stretchers is loose and one of the joints at the top of the leg has been reglued and there is a slight split on one corner of the apron, otherwise good condition.
Provenance: The vendor's father was working out in the far east from the 1920's to the late 1930's and after the war in the 1950's and '60's was buying pieces from specialist dealers such John Sparkes Ltd. Although none of the pieces in the sale have a John Sparkes label to them some additional items which will be appearing in a future sale do bear the John Sparkes Ltd label.
