A Chinese gilt decorated black lacquer lute (qin), 19th century, the top of the instrument with gilt inscriptions, the convex underside decorated with figures in formal gardens, rosewood mounts, 122cm

Some slight retouching to the gilding all over, has fine cracks to the lacquer all over and some occasional old retouching to the edges in particular, there also appears to be some restoration to some of the rosewood mounts, particularly at one end, there is also a wood mount lacking at one end where there is an oblong inset shape with peg holes. Vast majority of lacquer work though is original.
