A Chinese gilt bronze figure of a kneeling Bodhisattva, with remnants of polychrome decoration, on a brown patinated lotus throne, 21.2cm high

This figure is based upon a model originally made under Imperial commander in the early 15th century and given as diplomatic gifts to leading Tibetan religious figures. cf. Victoria & Albert Museum, London, accession no. 275&A-1898.

Condition:
The figure appears to be gilt painted rather than gilded, there is a small loss to the headdress on the left hand side, occasional wear to the polychrome and gilded decoration, the base is a misshapen circle made in manufacture.
