Lot 233 , A Chinese famille rose pear shaped teapot and cover, Yongzheng period (1723-35), height 10cm
A Chinese famille rose pear shaped teapot and cover, Yongzheng period (1723-35), the teapot painted with oval reserves of cockerels, peonies, rockwork, fruit and flowers on a pink cellular ground, lime green diaper borders, the cover is a good match but is possibly associated, height 10cm
Estimate £300-500
The aperture at the top of the teapot is slightly mis-shapen in the potting, there is a slightly raised patch on the left side of the teapot as the handle faces you on the border where the enamelling is over a glaze fault, this is not restoration, there are two tiny shallow chips to the tip of the spout and as mentioned in the description the cover is clearly painted in the same workshop in the same colours but is slightly loose fit so it may be associated or later.
