Lot 283 , A Chinese famille rose nine peach bottle vase, Qing dynasty, total height 48.5cm including stand and fittings, some restoration
A Chinese famille rose 'nine peach' bottle vase, Qing dynasty, finely painted with nine peach boughs, lingzhi fungus and five bats in flight within lime green ground borders painted with lotus flowers and bats, later converted to a lamp, total height 48.5cm including stand and fittings, some restoration
Estimate £1,200-1,800
The base of the vase has definately been drilled as the cord goes up through the centre, the vase has been glued to the wood stand and to the metal fitting at the top so it is impossible to remove the fitting to examine the base, there is a heavy glue residue around the top edge but it doesnt appear to be restoration, there are no visible cracks to the body but obviously the top rim and base cannot be inspected.
