A Chinese export famille rose snuff box and cover, mid 18th century, of shell shape with a gilt metal mounted rim and hinge, finely painted with ladies in interiors including the interior of the cover, the top of the cover with shell and scroll border, the sides painted with European subject figure panels and a pheasant amid chrysanthemums, width 7.2cm, base broken and repaired, together with an unusual Chinese sang-de-boeuf small vase bearing a Kangxi six character mark, 19th century, the unglazed foot fitting the centre of the wood stand, height 16.5cm, rim chip and hairline crack

The snuff box base has been broken into several sections and messily restuck with some filler and splinter losses around the area, the interior has been gold painted to disguise the damage, the cover itself has slight glaze losses to the interior but is generally in good condition and the gilt metal mount has some wear to the gilding but looks in reasonable condition, the sang de boeuf vase in this lot has a V shaped chip to the rim and an associated hairline crack extending down into the rim, the wood stand is in good condition.
