A Chinese export famille rose bough pot and cover, Daoguang period, of octagonal waisted form, painted with figures amid pavilions, the canted corner modelled in relief with tree shrews amid fruiting vines, a pair of gilt ropetwist handles to each side, the pierced cover with flowers on a cellular ground within flower and bird borders, 23cm, restored handles

Both handles have been restored and rebuilt in composition which has been painted gilt, some slight touching up to the gilding on the top rim where it has worn, on one corner there is a loss to one of the coloured "berries", slight firing fault to the interior not visible on the exterior, otherwise minor wear and scratching.
