A Chinese cinnabar lacquer box and cover, 19th century, of compressed globular form, carved in high relief with sages in mountainous landscapes on a diaper ground, the sides with similar reserves on diaper grounds carved with flowers, 26cm., restorations

The cover has a few cracks to the edge, some which have opened up slightly and there is some occasional areas of old and more recent restoration around the rim, the base section has a largish section which has been broken and restuck with some old restoration around the area, there is also some flaking and slight cracks to the foot.
