A Chinese cinnabar lacquer bottle vase, 18th / 19th century, carved in high relief with a sage in a garden, a warrior on horseback, figures by a river and men with two oxen, on brocade pattern grounds, the neck with lotus flowers and scrolling tendrils, height 30cm, slight restorations

There is a chip to the rim and another section next door where a piece has been restuck, on one of the figure panels a man is holding a staff the upper section of the staff is lacking, on the next panel with a warrior on horseback there is a slight loss to the top of the flag pole of a banner being held by a figure and some losses to each end of the pole-arm the warrior is holding, the next panel along with a sage in the garden there are some slight chips to the edges of the reserves, there are slight chips to the edges on all three reserves, some flaking and cracking to the black lacquer on the foot and there is some retouching on the black lacquer on the edge of the rim and the foot, otherwise in good condition.
