A Chinese brown silk court robe for an Imperial Duke, jifu, late 19th century, embroidered to the brown ground with nine five-clawed dragons in pursuit of flaming pearls amongst scrolling clouds, bats and other auspicious symbols, all above a wave border and lishui stripes, alterations to sleeves

Condition:
There are some occasional unpicked threads and some noticeable wear to the silk on the lishiu stripes of the sleeves and at the base of the robe, later blue silk lining, otherwise in reasonable condition.
