A Chinese blue and white u-shaped jar, Kangxi period, painted with lotus flowers, scrolling leaves and tendrils, height 16cm diameter 22cm

There is a feint inscription in ink on the base which will probably remove, there is some slight discolouration to the glaze around the base with a slight burst bubble in the base, the inner rim of the jar is unglazed as it would originally had a cover, otherwise in good condition with no restoration chips or cracks.

Provenance: The vendor's father was working out in the far east from the 1920's to the late 1930's and after the war in the 1950's and '60's was buying pieces from specialist dealers such John Sparkes Ltd. Although none of the pieces in the sale have a John Sparkes label to them some additional items which will be appearing in a future sale do bear the John Sparkes Ltd label.
