A Chinese blue and white ovoid jar, Kangxi / Yongzheng, painted with antiques to arched panels on a cracked ice and plum blossom ground, height 20cm, small star crack to side

There is a star shaped crack to the bottom of one of the reserves which goes into the ground beneath it, there is some slight scratching to the glaze otherwise in good condition.

Provenance: The vendor's father was working out in the far east from the 1920's to the late 1930's and after the war in the 1950's and '60's was buying pieces from specialist dealers such John Sparkes Ltd. Although none of the pieces in the sale have a John Sparkes label to them some additional items which will be appearing in a future sale do bear the John Sparkes Ltd label.
