A Chinese bamboo under vest, late Qing dynasty,
made of tiny tubular bamboo beads threaded together to form a net-like structure.
Provenance - Arthur Walter Thompson of Rotherhithe, London, importer of Chinese Furs and Produce in the 1920s, thence by family descent.

There are a few small patches where the threading has broken otherwise generally in good condition.
