A Chinese amber pendant, Qing dynasty, carved as bird amid fruiting branches, the translucent amber of even tone with some internal age crizzling, 5.9cm high excluding fittings

Provenance: by family repute formerly in the Arthur Flynn collection, purchased from Bluett's before 1980.


The amber has internal age crizzling and natural inclusions, there is some slight wear to the bottom gourd and the gilt metal and stone chain and mount may well have been added later and where it fits the top of the pendant there is some wear around the area, there are also a few minute chips to the edges of a few of the leaves, otherwise in reasonable condition.
