A Chinese 19th century Qing Dynasty crimson red silk embroidered hanging. Embroidered with sprays and swags of flowers and foliage, depicting prosperity and fortune, around a central stylistic sun motif, depicting perfection and harmony. The cover made from three panels of 72cm wide silk, edged with fine silk fringing, tasselled at each corner and backed with cream silk damask, hanging not including fringing 216cm x 285cms. Condition: there are fine tears in places to the red silk which could be restored and a few marks, not unusual for its age and use.
