Overall rather distressed condition, viewing is recommended but we will post numerous additional photographs on the website for inspection.
The top of the lid has a loss to the back left corner and appears to have lost some braiding running around the edges, heavily oxidised and worn with some wearing away to the details particularly of the figures faces, similar situation around the sides of the lid although slightly less dirty, hinges intact, interior of lid would once have housed a mirror or something similar but this is now missing, front doors and sides of the box are similarly in distressed condition although retain better strength of colour, original handles to each side, inside of the box houses an inkwell and pounce pot, looks to be lacking 3 or 4 additional fittings, this sits above three short drawers and one long drawer which having been protected from the light are in better condition, probably original pink fabric lining to much of the interior. The key is missing.

Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports. The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging. Interested bidders are strongly encouraged to request a condition report on any lots upon which they intend to bid, prior to placing a bid.
