A Castel Durante maiolica 'Bella Donna' dish, first half 16th century, painted with the portrait of a beautiful lady and a scrolling ribbon inscribed "POLI SENA. BELLA", diameter 23cm, losses and damage

The foot has been cut and ground off, there is a crack at the 3 o'clock position running from the left side of her jaw to the rim, there is a substantial rim loss from 10 o'clock to nearly 1 o'clock, general glaze loss all around the rim with other occasional chip losses, heavy crazing to the glaze from 4 o'clock to 6 o'clock on the front and 4 o'clock to 7 o'clock on the reverse. Scratching to the glaze on the interior and the exterior edge in particular, no restoration.
