A Carys New Terrestrial globe, globe Diam. 11in., overall H.17in. overall Diam.15in.

A Cary's New Terrestrial globe, made and sold by J & W Cary, January 1812, on ebonised stand, globe Diam. 11in., overall H.17in. overall Diam.15in.
Estimate £800-1,200

This globe looks to have been restored within the last 10 years or so, no signs of specific old damage or repairs but the overall appearance is of slight over restoration. Diameter is 12in. with the overall diameter 17in. The brass ring support does not sit properly on the stand, so the globe does lean slightly to one side, causing it to rub against the outer ring. Ebonised stand looks to be in good condition, height overall is 17in.
The globe dates from 1912 but it has significant restoration to the papers
