A 19th century Kashmir wool and silk shawl, finely embroidered with figures and animals amid buildings in shaped cartouches with inscriptions around the centre,

One of the borders has damage to the back sections where the woven cloth is missing and has areas of fringing missing, the corresponding opposite edge has less damage, only four sections have damage with some damage to the fringing, all four figurative embroidered borders are in good condition, the central embroidered section of the shawl is also in good condition, the central unembroidered cartouche shows signs of fading to the turquoise woven cloth and has become patchy, there are no visible mends, just the damage mentioned above, possibly very slight overall fading.
