A 19th century Indian pierced ivory rectangular shape casket, mounted with painted miniatures, depicting well known palaces, temples and monuments on elephant carved feet, overall 9.5in.

Lid has a small crack to one border and a small section of piercing missing to the bottom right hand corner, there is also a small split in the piercing between two oval painted miniatures, there are other aeras of discolouration all over, some damage and reglued section to the fret work border between the elephant feet, most noticeable along the back edge, one of the back miniatures has a crack in its glass, one miniature at the side has some fading to its painted surface, generally average condition.
