Some fine hairline cracks running through small areas of the red tortoiseshell with one or two small losses of tortoiseshell veneer, brass work has probably seen some pushing back and restoration over the years, there are some small areas where red boulle has been replaced with the simulated finish, notably to the lower right side of the door, ebonised carcass with signs of minor dents and scuffs acquired over the years, ormolu mounts all in good honest original condition with original finish which is now a little oxidised, slight lifting to brass stringing in the foot, with one 6 inch length missing towards the bottom left, also some lifting to brass stringing down the right hand side, all ormolu mounts present, all ormolu mounts present with one spare section available for the left hand side, key working in the lock, internal velvet possible a replacement but of some age, overall extremely handsome cabinet of rare large size and very high quality.
