The hinged cover is slightly bowed so there is a slight gap to one side when shut, the exterior of the case has some minor restorations, looks like a section of the mother of pearl has been replaced with faux keys, one of the ormolu lion paw feet is detached but is present, inside the silvering on the mirror has a lot of spotting to it and there is some remnants of the glue to one side where the velvet border has been restuck, the ivory silkwork borders are frayed and the pink velvet is faded and worn in places, some of the fittings are not original such as the silver thimble and the pair of gilt metal scissors which are missing one loop, there is one tool missing to the centre, lifting up the fitted tray there is an ivory silk lined compartment which contains associated mother of pearl items, the rectangular pin cushion lifts up to reveal an 7cm cylinder musical movement with steel comb, the underside of the pin cushion is inscribed with the name of airs, most of this has been torn and lost, the movement in itself goes for a little bit and then stops but looks in clean condition so might just need a little attention, the levers underneath - one feels rather loose so may need some attention.
