Lot 191 , A 19th century Anglo Indian ivory and sadeli work box, 17in.

A 19th century Anglo Indian ivory and sadeli work box, 17in.

A 19th century Anglo Indian ivory and sadeli work box, the hinged lid revealing a fitted interior with rectangular mirror, lidded compartments and cotton reel holders, single front drawer and swing handles on turned ivory ball feet, 17in.
Estimate £2,000-3,000

Generally in fairly good condition and quite complete, there are a few minor areas of inlay missing along one border on the front, probably about an inch long, there are a few sections of veneer lifting from the back, some slight warping to some of the interior lids which is quite normal and the left hand folding hinge is missing a small pin that holds it in place which at the moment makes it slightly difficult to close the lid.
