A 19th century, probably American, painted wood carousel horse, upon display stand, the horse with raised forelegs and looking slightly to the right with glass inset eyes and original painted decoration, L.3ft 5in. H.3ft 7in. Overall H. when on stand 5ft 9in.

Looks to have the original silver painted finish which has numerous areas of flaking and wear, in addition the timbers of the horses are separating at some of the joints showing as gaps and splits notably at the chest and legs but also scattered throughout the piece, the back left lower leg is missing and a section from the back right leg also missing, stand is brown metal veneered and with oxidisation and scuffing throughout and one end of the veneer and other parts coming away from the base.
