A 17th century cup hilted rapier, with 40.5 inch slender diamond section blade, in finely pierced cup spiral ovaloid pommel and wirebound grip

Overall the steel is tarnished with some very light surface rust, the wirebound grip is in good order but the wood underneath has shrunk leaving the grip slightly loose, the blade is slightly bowed with a kink 2 inches from the tip, the tip is chipped.
