A 17th century breast and backplate, proof marks on breast plate, straps restored, lower back to back of neck 18.5in.

Both plates are heavily pitted and there have been repairs in several places to the edges of the breastplate which should be evident in the photographs, there is a small replacement section at the very tip of the base of the breastplate that has been repaired with a piece of copper, the interior of the plate is very heavily pitted and shows considerable age, the leather straps are modern replacements and have been attached with modern rivets that have been filed off on the inside, both plates have proof marks or a musket ball mark, the backplate fairly central to the lower third and there is a feint mark on the breastplate about midway to the left side.
