Lot 279 , A 17th century and later oak wainscott chair, H.3ft 5in.
A 17th century and later oak wainscott chair, with roundel carved back and solid seat, H.3ft 5in.
Estimate £300-500
Overall fair condition, a slight wobble to the chair as many of the joints are a little shaky, the back of the arms are fixed with flat head screws running through from the back of the chair, this appears to be an old repair done some years ago, the loose swab cushion to the back is attached with drill holes through the panel, the base is definitely worn and has been cut down to fit flush with the bottom of stretchers, fair wear throughout as would be expected, colour is a little flat and would benefit from improvement.
Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports. The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging.
